Mount Etna excursions

The Etna, considered among the most active volcanoes in the world, is certainly among the most beautiful and impactful and enjoys a unique geographical position located in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea.
With its altitude of 3330 meters it offers a wide vegetative, climatic and landscape variety for a unique and unrepeatable experience.
The surfaces of the craters offer a landscape of bare volcanic rock comparable to a lunar landscape which during all seasons of the year offers varied panoramas and activities for all needs.

The mount Etna
The flora
A rich and varied vegetation makes the Etna woods and landscapes unique. From landscapes purely of volcanic rock with an almost lunar appearance to thick vegetation that reaches its full splendor in spring.
Among all the vegetation, Etna has mosses and lichens, brooms and dense wooded areas of chestnut trees, pines, oaks and beeches.
It also has birch trees and two monuments of particular historical interest:

- L’ilice di Carlino
The fauna
Among the variety of fauna, Etna has a wide variety of birds including the kestrel, the chaffinch, the buzzard, the robin, the red woodpecker, the common raven, the partridge and the Sicilian tit.
Among the reptiles and insects present in the area, the turtle, the gecko lizard, the Sicilian lizard, the green lizard, the snake, the rat snake and the viper stand out.
Finally, among the insects there are butterflies, dragonflies, crickets, cicadas, bees, wasps and spiders.
